The present invention relates to an electronic control unit and a control method for the same and, specifically, to an electronic control unit which comprises a main electronic control unit (ECU) including one or more external connection terminals; one or more sub-ECUs linked with a cell which is connected to the external connection terminal; and one or more predetermined control software to correspond to the condition of the cell linked to the external connection terminal. The electronic control unit identifies the condition of the sub-ECU linked to the external connection terminal of the main ECU by scanning the external connection terminal; unifies one or more control software to provide the software which is identified by the same software and corresponds to the condition of the sub-ECU; and controls the condition of a vehicle mounted with the main ECU.
