The device has a latch (42), and an electromagnetic actuator (44) comprising a pin (48) moved under an effect of an electromagnetic field. The pin has an end surface (50) i.e. flat surface, to contact a surface (54) of the latch to move the latch from or toward a position in which the pin immobilizes a portion with another portion. The surfaces are configured so as to realize a contact e.g. flat or sphere contact, between the pin and the latch through the surfaces. The surface of the pin defines an end surface of the pin with respect to the latch. An independent claim is also included for a system for transmission of movement of a cam to a valve.
