PURPOSE: A slab scarfing method is provided to prevent a slab from being tied up in a standby state in a slab scarfing process, thereby quickly performing the scarfing process. CONSTITUTION: A slab scarfing method performs the following steps: a step of aligning the posture of a slab produced in a continuous casting process before mounting the slab on a transfer roller which transfers the slab to a scarfing machine (S100); a step of mounting the slab on the transfer roller and transferring to the scarfing machine (S200); a step of detecting an alignment position of the slab, moving on the transfer roller, in the width direction of the roller, moving the scarfing machine in the width direction of the slab in response to the detected alignment position of the slab in the width direction, and aligning the slab with the scarfing machine (S300); and a step of enabling the slab to pass through the scarfing machine and scarfing the surface of the slab (S400).
