PURPOSE: A digital broadcast transmission method is provided to enable a user processor to automatically check the kinds of caption data through capton_service_descriptor and to process and output the caption data corresponding to the kinds of the caption data. CONSTITUTION: After a user processor(504) checks an analog caption using analog_cc_type information in capton_service_descriptor, the user processor reads VBI(Vertical Blanking Interval) line information. An analog closed-caption decoder(506) finds analog caption data by using the VBI line information and line_field information in the user data area of a video inputted from a video parser(505). The analog caption data is synthesized with a GUI(Graphic User Interface) screen and a video program by a video synthesizer(509).
