An apparatus for controlling airflow and air temperature with respect to a building having a housing made substantially from plastic and having a fresh air inlet, a fresh air 5 outlet, a used air inlet and a used air outlet, means to control the temperature of the air by way of heat exchange, and air transfer means adapted to be able to cause: . fresh air to be received via the fresh air inlet, . fresh air to be received in an inhabitable space in a building via the fresh outlet, 10 - used air to be received from the inhabitable space via the used air inlet; and * used air to be directed towards the outside of the building; the apparatus formed so that it can effect a heat transfer between fresh air which enters the housing and used air which enters the housing, to warm or 15 cool fresh air which is directed into the inhabitable space.
