PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for controlling manufacture of an ophthalmic device with a contour forming device, which manufactures a series of contour form lenses until a lens design meets its acceptance criteria and, when it meets, executes a convergence process.SOLUTION: A method for controlling manufacture of an ophthalmic device by a contour forming device comprises: (a) providing an instruction to the contour forming device in order to manufacture the ophthalmic device; (b) manufacturing the ophthalmic device by use of the contour forming device on the basis of the instruction; (c) measuring the ophthalmic device; (d) determining if the ophthalmic device conforms to acceptance criteria of a lens design; (e) following the determination that the ophthalmic device does not conform to the acceptance criteria; and (f) executing a convergence process to converge the ophthalmic device to the lens design. |
