PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tunnel excavator which can improve the machinability of the inner periphery of a cutter head and effectively perform conversion into mud, thus actualizing suitable excavation of a large-section tunnel.SOLUTION: In the tunnel excavator, a cutter head 12 is provided which is divided into an inner periphery cutter 12B and an outer periphery cutter 12A to be rotated by independent driving motors 37, 22. Onto a rotating shaft 25 of the inner periphery cutter passing through a chamber 33 defined behind the cutter head, a rotary joint 26 for the outer periphery cutter is fitted. A plurality of cylindrical frames 58 extending radially from the outer periphery of the rotary joint for the outer periphery cutter are connected to a plurality of cutter spokes 13 of the outer periphery cutter extending radially from around the inner periphery cutter, respectively, and supply pipes for mud adding agent, communicated with at least mud addition inlets 43 of the cutter spokes 13, are passed into a cylindrical frame. |
