PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereoscopic display device configured to reduce generation of moire.SOLUTION: A stereoscopic display device 1 includes; a display unit 14 having subpixel groups arranged in a matrix form along a first direction and a second direction which is perpendicular to the first direction; a light beam control element which is located on top of the display unit 14 and controls light beams emitted from the display unit 14; and a control unit which controls the display unit 14. The control unit displays an image that includes images of N view points (N is a whole number greater than 2) on the image display unit 14. The light beam control element has optical properties that change every predetermined interval &phgr; along a direction D2 which is at an angle arctan (1/3) with the first direction, where the predetermined interval &phgr; is no more than N/2 times a pitch sof the subpixels in the first direction.
