<p>[Problem] To provide an optical film, polarizing plate, liquid crystal panel, and image display device that can suppress the occurrence of interference fringe, for which white muddiness cannot be seen, and for which production costs can be reduced. [Solution] According to one embodiment of the present invention, provided is an optical film (10) provided with a light transmitting substrate (11) and a functional layer (12) provided on the light transmitting substrate (11). The functional layer (12) has an uneven surface (12A) which forms the surface of the optical film (10). In a state where parallel light advancing in a direction inclined by 10° from the normal direction N of the optical film (10) is emitted onto the uneven surface (12A) of the functional layer (12), with respect to an angle distribution of reflection-light strength measured in a plane that includes both the normal direction N and the advancement direction T of parallel light, a value found by subtracting the width of an angle region for which reflection-light strength of at least 1/2 the maximum reflection-light strength is measured, from the width of an angle region for which reflection-light strength of at least 1/100 the maximum reflection-light strength is measured, is at least 0.7° and no more than 1.4°.</p> |
