PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition device using AC power for ignition, which surely supplies AC power required for performing ignition.SOLUTION: An ignition device for a spark plug comprises: a spark plug; an AC power source; and a cable for connecting the spark plug to the AC power source. The cable comprises an inner conductor extending along a center line; an outer conductor on an outer surface of the cable; a cable terminal provided at a tip of the inner conductor and connecting to a plug side terminal; and an insulator in the cable for electrically insulating the outer conductor from the inner conductor. A tip of the outer conductor has a cable side contact part having an incircle being smaller than a circumcircle of the plug side contact part in a main metal fitting and having the elasticity in radial direction in condition before the cable is connected to the spark plug. The main metal fitting is fit into the cable so that the plug side contact part comes into contact with the cable side contact part. |
