PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner capable of reducing the size and thickness thereof, and an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: An optical scanner 1 includes: a movable plate 11 that can oscillate around a first shaft and a third shaft; a first shaft part; a pair of drive plates 16a and 16b that can oscillate around a second shaft; a pair of second shaft parts; a pair of bent parts 14a and 14b; a pair of connection parts 13a and 13b; a first permanent magnet; a pair of second permanent magnets; a coil 30; and voltage application means for applying voltage to the coil 30. The voltage application means overlaps a first voltage of a first frequency with a second voltage of a second frequency and applies the overlapped voltage to the coil 30 to cause the movable plate 11 to oscillate around the first shaft at the first frequency and cause the respective drive plates 16a and 16b to oscillate around the second shaft at the second frequency. The oscillations cause the respective bent parts 14a and 14b to be bent to cause the movable plate 11 to oscillate around the third shaft at the second frequency. |
