For the purpose of providing a method for detecting the risk of poor prognosis of renal cell carcinoma in a simple manner and with extremely high sensitivity and specificity, a methylome analysis was carried out on a normal renal tissue and a non-cancer tissue and a renal cell carcinoma both collected from a renal cell carcinoma patient. As a result, it is found that the risk of poor prognosis of renal cell carcinoma can be detected by detecting the DNA methylation level in a CpG site in at least one gene selected from FAM150A gene, GRM6 gene, ZNF540 gene, ZFP42 gene, ZNF154 gene, RIMS4 gene, PCDHAC1 gene, KHDRBS2 gene, ASCL2 gene, KCNQ1 gene, PRAC gene, WNT3A gene, TRH gene, FAM78A gene, ZNF671 gene, SLC13A5 gene and NKX6-2 gene. |
