<p>The purpose of the invention is to expand the size of a copy source volume, and then to expand the size of a copy destination volume at a desired timing while keeping synchronization in a copy pair before expansion. A first controller defines an existing pair indicating copying from a first existing area, which is a storage area before the size of a first logical volume is expanded, to a second existing area, which is a storage area before the size of a second logical volume is expanded, maintains the existing pair in a synchronization state in which the second existing area is synchronized with the first existing area, and expands the size of the first logical volume by adding a first expansion area in a first storage device to the first logical volume during the synchronization state. A second controller adds a second expansion area in a second storage device to the second logical volume after the size of the first logical volume is expanded, and writes data written in the first expansion area to the second expansion area.</p> |
