Provided are a laser-induced ultrasonic apparatus and a method for generating an image using the same. The laser-induced ultrasonic apparatus includes a laser source which emits a laser to an object and a thermal elastic material layer, the thermal elastic layer which changes the laser into a first ultrasonic wave and emits the first ultrasonic wave to the object, and a receiving unit which receives an echo signal of the first ultrasonic wave from the object and a second ultrasonic wave which is generated from the object by the laser.
