[Class 51(i)] In a water gas generator or gas-producer of the selfclinkering type provided with a rotating ash pan 2, an ash plough and associated dam plate 3, a blast of air is directed from the nozzle 7 onto the rim and lip of the ash pan at 5 behind the dam plate. In a modification a nozzle opening near the top of the rim 6 is supplemented by an upwardly directed slot formed in the wall of the nozzle, which follows the contour of the rim. |
