An LCD is provided to repress the light leakage through a gap between a gate line and a common line by disposing a light blocking member for blocking light from a backlight. A gate line(1) intersects a data line(2) to define a pixel area. A transistor is formed near the intersection between the gate line and the data line in the pixel area. The transistor includes a gate electrode connected with the gate line, a drain electrode(7) connected with the data line, and a source electrode(6) connected with a pixel ITO(Indium tin Oxide) electrode(5) formed in the pixel area. A common line(3) is formed in the pixel area. A light blocking member is formed between the gate line and the common line to block light from a backlight. The light blocking member is formed of the same material as the drain electrode and the source electrode. |
