PORTABLE CONTROLLER UNIT FOR A COMPRESSION DEVICE A portable controller (14) for delivering pressurized air to a compression device (12) does not require the use of tubing to make internal or external connections. The 5 controller unit (14) includes a molded, one-piece manifold base (56) on which an air compressor (52) and a valve mechanism (54) are mounted. The manifold base (56) includes a plenum (60) formed inside the base (56) during molding of the base (56) and a connector component (40) formed during molding of the base (56) for releasably securing the base (56) to the compression device (12). The plenum (60) fluidly connects the air 1o compressor (52) to the valve mechanism (54).
