PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology which prevents a steering wheel from rotating spontaneously irrespective of an intention of a driver when an impact force is generated on a vehicle.SOLUTION: An electric power steering device includes: a first control part 200 which calculates a first target value for controlling drive of an electric power motor 110 based on a target current determined in response to steering torque and an actual current detected by a current detection part 33; a second control part 300 which determines a target rudder angle which is a target steering angle of a steering wheel when impact force is generated on a vehicle, and calculates a second target value for controlling so that an actual steering angle detected by a steering angle sensor 112 becomes the determined target rudder angle; and a switching part 35 by which a PWM signal generation part 60 and a motor drive part 32 for controlling drive of the electric power motor 110 based on the first target value or the second target value switch a target value based on the first target value when the impact force is not generated on the vehicle, and based on the second target value when the impact force is generated on the vehicle. |
