The present invention relates to a system and method for providing an image-based video service and provides an image-based video service providing system comprising: a cache system for storing video information that matches image-related data; a fingerprint extraction unit for extracting a fingerprint of an image corresponding to inputted image-related data; and a matching unit for determining video information that matches the fingerprint of the image extracted by the fingerprint extraction unit, wherein video information that matches image-related data received from a client terminal is determined by the cache system or the matching unit, and video result information corresponding to the determined video information is transmitted to the client terminal, and a method using the same. According to the present invention, provided is a system and method for accurately determining, in real time, a video or frame corresponding to an image through a network, such as the Internet, a mobile communication network or the like, and accurately playing the video or a video starting from the frame. |
