PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antibacterial polymer from which antibacterial component does not elute, which is safe to human body and environment, and the antibacterial activity does not deteriorate with time.SOLUTION: An antibacterial polymer comprises a repeating unit of a polyvinyl alcohol moiety with a composition ratio (mol%) m and a repeating unit of a polyvinyl alcohol introduced of parahydroxybenzoic acid as an acetoxybenzoic acid with a composition ratio (mol%) n of respective repeating unit in the antibacterial polymer. Here, m and n satisfy the following formulae: 0≤m≤99; 1≤n≤100; and m+n=100. |
