The error analyzing device has a fault memory and an interface that are communicated with a vehicle system of a vehicle to detect errors on the vehicle via the interface and store the error data in the fault memory. Another interface is communication with a movement system to detect a vehicle system time of the vehicle and to store the error data indicating the vehicle system time at which the error is occurred. An independent claim is included for method for determining causes of errors.
