The document i.e. banknote (1), has protecting layers comprising delustered regions (101, 103, 105, 107) and non-delustered regions or regions with different gloss degrees such that security elements (5, 6) are covered by the non-delustered region or the protecting layer region with the large gloss degree. Protecting layer surfaces comprise a region with a micro folding structure and a region without micro folding structure or regions with different micro folding structures such that the delustered and non-delustered regions or the layer regions with different gloss degrees are produced. The security element comprises safety features that are selected are from a group consisting of holograms, hologram-like diffraction structures, diffraction patterns, structures with color tilting effect, cinema forms, structures with isotropic or anisotropic scattering effects or other interference effects, thin layer elements, deluster structures, structures with micro lens such as moire magnification arrangements and modulo magnification arrangements. The document is applied with a protective coating whose deluster character is achieved by additive of deluster agents such as silica gels, polymer powders or wax to protective coating compositions. The security document is provided with a UV-curable paint such as radical or cationic interlacing paint, preferably paint with prepolymers, which are functionalized with acrylate, vinyl or epoxy groups with 0-95 wt.% of reactive diluents. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a security document. |
