The present invention relates to a switching power device with a power factor compensation function and a control circuit thereof. The present invention controls one or two switching elements to be opened or closed depending on the switching frequency and the circuit time based on the feedback from a second power transformation unit; compensates the power factor through a first power transformation unit to lower the harmonic distortion of the input current, and at the same time, to stabilize the output voltage and the output current through the second power transformation unit. Therefore, compared to the previous technology which requires two independent control outputs and two independent switching elements, the present invention is simple and able to reduce the size and the production cost. |
