The present invention refers to an industrial process for converting spent sludge utilized in water purification, into inert material with a low moisture content, by means of the use of lime (CaO). The process is characterised by the fact that the addition of lime occurs at a ratio by weight ranging between 1:1 and 4:1, with respect to the amount of dry matter contained in the sludge obtained from Step A, so as to reach and maintain a constant temperature ranging between 100 and 110 °C, until obtaining a residual water content of less than or equal to 10%. |
