The device i.e. micro display (2), has a multi-layer encapsulation (101) comprising an inorganic inner barrier film (10) overlying an external electrode (6) of the device, and an outer barrier film (112) covering a planarizing resin layer (11). Colored filters (B', R', V') are separated by a separation unit formed by the outer barrier film and an additional inorganic barrier film (113). The separation unit protects each filter against aggression or migration of chemical products used for laying the filter corresponding to upper photolithography level by wet process. An independent claim is also included for a method for sealed encapsulation of organic LED polychrome display device.
