PURPOSE: An initiator composition for artificial marbles and an artificial marble which is manufactured by using the same are provided to enhance workability and storage stability by including an initiator which is disassembled by an accelerator, a plasticizer, filler, and a thermally-decomposable initiator at a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION: An initiator composition for artificial marbles comprises 25-30 weight% of initiator which is disassembled by a reaction accelerator, 25-45 weight% of a plasticizer, 0-1 weight% of filler, 30-50 weight% of a pyrolytic initiator. The initiator disassembled by the reaction accelerator is selected from benzoyl peroxide, butyl hydroperoxide, cumyl peroxide, tert-butyl peroxy malate, and tert-butyl peroxy acetate. The artificial marble is manufactured with artificial marble slurry, and less than 1% of residual monomer is contained. The artificial marble slurry comprises 100.0 parts by weight of acryl resin syrup, 100-300 parts by weight of inorganic filler, 0.02-5 parts by weight of reaction accelerator, and 0.1-10 parts by weight of initiator composition for artificial marbles. |
