If water drop is formed on a camera lens for a vehicle in rain, image recorded by the camera becomes cloudy and a driver will have hard time securing sights. The present invention relates to water repellent coating for the surface of lens to solve such problems. The present invention is water repellent coating comprising thin film layers made of perfluoroalkyl silane based substances. When water drop is contacted with the lens surface coated by the water repellent coating according to the present invention, the surface forms 120 degrees or more of water repellent contact angle so that the water drop can be easily slid, a water hold-up phenomenon on the lens surface can be prevented and sight securing for drivers can be facilitated.
