Disclosed are a three-dimensional display device and a drive method thereof. The three-dimensional display device comprises a plurality of pixel units arranged in a matrix mode, a gate driver and a source driver. A constant drive voltage is provided by the source driver to enable a fourth sub-pixel area (36) to maintain a display of a dark state during the scanning process of the fourth sub-pixel area (36). By means of the method, the width of a black matrix is equivalently increased, and the vertical angle of view of the three-dimensional display device is increased under the condition that the aperture opening ratio is not reduced.
