Provided are a carbon dioxide recovery method and recovery device that are capable of reducing operating costs by reducing the energy required for regenerating the absorption liquid. In a carbon dioxide recovery device, an absorption tower where carbon dioxide contained in gas is absorbed by an absorption liquid has a first absorption section and a second absorption section and the gas passed through the first absorption section and is supplied to the second absorption section. A regeneration tower, which heats and regenerates the absorption liquid that has absorbed carbon dioxide in the absorption tower, has a first regeneration section and a second regeneration section. The first regeneration section has an external heating means and the second regeneration section is heated by the heat of the gas released from the first regeneration section. An absorption liquid-circulating mechanism has: a circulation system that circulates the absorption liquid between the second absorption section and the first regeneration section; and a branch system that branches from the circulation system so that a portion of the absorption liquid circulating in the circulation system passes from the second absorption section to the first absorption section and the second regeneration section in sequence and then flows toward the first regeneration section.
