PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas purification catalyst material that can improve exhaust gas purification performance.SOLUTION: An exhaust gas purification catalyst material to purify exhaust gas exhausted from an engine includes a ZrLaY composite oxide that contains: ZrOas a principal ingredient; at least 2% by mass and at most 10% by mass of LaO; and at least 2% by mass and at most 20% by mass of YO, wherein Rh is supported to the composite oxide.
