Disclosed is a method for intelligently displaying an icon. The method comprises: after a display request for displaying an icon of a menu item is received, querying a state parameter of the menu item in a current setting, and determining an icon display state of the menu item according to the state parameter obtained through querying; and adjusting and processing the icon of the menu item according to the icon display state and a preset icon display rule, so as to display the adjusted icon of the menu item. The present invention further provides a corresponding device. In the method for intelligently displaying the icon provided in the present invention, a user can know states related to a function, content and the like of the menu item corresponding to the icon by merely browsing the icon of the menu item, accordingly, the icon of the menu item is displayed more intelligently, thereby improving use experience of the user and enhancing market competitiveness of a product.
