PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-level driver support system that operates on a long time scale, and not only relaxes an influence of a collision by responding to a danger, but also guides the local vehicle so as to avoid an incoming danger.SOLUTION: A high-level driver support system includes an arithmetic unit 12 which receives sensor signals from sensors 11a, 11b detecting one or more traffic participants, identifies the azimuth of each traffic participant detected from the sensor signals relative to a vehicle 20 equipped with the system, and predicts one or more latent dangers to the vehicle 20 while taking information including the identified azimuth, a free travel area of the vehicle 20, and/or a travel locus of the vehicle 20 that the driver intends, into consideration. |
