The invention relates to a turbomachine (10) having at least one process space (12), at least one inflow region (14) and at least one outflow region (16), between which a process medium (18) which flows through the at least one process space (12) is compressed from a first lower pressure (p1) in an inflow region (14) to a second higher pressure (p2) in an outflow region (16), and having a turbomachine cooling circuit (20) for cooling at least one component (22) of the turbomachine (10). In order to achieve a high degree of efficiency and safety standard of the turbomachine (10) so as to save components, assembly outlay and costs, it is proposed that the turbomachine cooling circuit (20) is configured in such a way that at least part (24) of the process medium (18) for cooling the at least one component (22) can be guided from an outflow region (16) to an inflow region (14). Furthermore, the invention relates to a method for cooling at least one component (22) of the turbomachine (10) and to the use of a compressed process medium (18) for cooling at least the component (22) of the turbomachine (10).
