[Classes 82(i) and 82(ii)] A method of recovering alloy cases from lead-filled bullets comprises feeding the bullets along an open-ended cage member 18 having apertures through which bullets cannot pass formed by parallel rods 15 mounted on members 18 and 19. Said member 18 rotates about its axis 16 within a chamber 10, the temperature of which is such that the lead becomes plastic and is extruded, e.g. 500 to 650‹C., withdrawing the de-leaded cases through a chute 26 and withdrawing the lead 22 from the chamber 10. The cage may be provided with a strip of metal secured to the rods 17 and arranged in spiral form for the travel of the bullets or cases. The cases withdrawn may be separated by means of a Y-shaped tubular assembly into normal weight cases and cases which are abnormally heavy due to the presence of lead or other metal cores or caps. The cases are received by a limb 28, water being directed upwardly, by means of a pump 32, through a limb 29, at such a rate that the cases which are abnormally heavy sink down through the limb 29 into the tank 31, and the normal weight cases are carried through a limb 30, and collected. They may be acid-cleaned to remove any residual lead.</p>
