The invention relates to a power cutting tool comprising at least one cutting strand (12a; 12b; 12c) which has at least one cutting strand segment (14a; 14b; 14c) and at least one further cutting strand segment (16a) that are arranged directly one after the other along a cutting direction (20a; 20b; 20c) of the cutting strand (12a; 12b; 12c) and that each comprise at least one starting cutting element (22a, 24a; 22b; 22c) and at least one final cutting element (26a, 28a; 26b; 26c). According to the invention, the starting cutting element (22a, 24a; 22b; 22c) of the cutting strand segment (14a; 14b; 14c), when seen along a direction that runs at least substantially perpendicular to the cutting direction (20a; 20b; 20c) and at least substantially parallel to a cutting plane of the cutting strand (12a; 12b; 12c), has a cutting element height (32a; 32b; 32c) that differs from a cutting element height (30a) of the starting cutting element (24a) of the further cutting strand segment (16a).
