PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information input device and an input switching control method that reduce a user's trouble of switching an input mode.SOLUTION: A cellphone 10 comprises: a display section 12 for inputting display information including an input form and particular display information that is a character string or image in a particular positional relationship to the input form; a storage section 14 for associatively storing predetermined character strings or images and input mode information indicating input modes; an extraction section 15 for extracting the particular display information in a particular positional relationship to a specified input form from the display information; and an input mode setting section 16 for comparing the extracted particular display information with the character strings or images stored in the storage section 14, and setting the input mode indicated by the input mode information associated with a character string or image stored in the storage section 14 in accordance with the result of comparison, as an input mode for an input from an input section 11.
