PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a virtual image display device that adjusts a screen position in response to a change in posture of a wearer and can alleviate a sense of discomfort due to virtual image display received by the wearer.SOLUTION: A posture information detection section 60 detects a posture of a wearer. An arithmetic processing unit 70 and a device position driving device 80 that are screen position adjustment mechanisms relatively and translationally move a liquid crystal display device 32 that is a light modulation element with respect to a light guide device 20 in an in-plane parallel to a light incident surface IS of the light guide device 20 on the basis of detection results of the posture information detection section 60 to control change of a position of a screen such that a video is reversely moved to motion of the wearer. On account of this, each image can be watched by the wearer as if each image remained there without following the motion of the wearer even when the wearer moves. Accordingly, a sense of discomfort due to the motion of the wearer can be alleviated even when the wearer moves. |
