SURFACE TREATED CALCIUM CARBONATE AND POLYAMIDE RESIN COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface treated calcium carbonate capable of enhancing mechanical strength of a polyamide resin, and a polyamide resin composition containing the surface treated calcium carbonate.SOLUTION: A surface treated calcium carbonate is obtained by treating surfaces of calcium carbonate with at least one of maleic acid and maleic acid anhydride. The surface treated calcium carbonate has an average particle diameter in a range from 0.02 μm to 10 μm measured by use of a laser diffraction type grain size distribution measuring device, and has a BET specific surface area in a range from 0.1 m/g to 100 m/g.
