PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for determining the position of a wireless device after shutdown are provided to secondly turn off a power source of a wireless data processing device after a current position is transmitted. CONSTITUTION: A timer module periodically turns on a wireless device or a partial power source of the wireless device in response to the reach of a predetermined time. A position service module (105) determines a current position of a wireless data processing device using one or more designated position decision techniques. An electrical transmission thread (106) transmits the current position of the wireless data processing device through one or more specific communication channels. A power circuit secondly turns off a power source of the wireless data processing device.
