[Class 140] The wood preservative described in the parent Specification is modified by the addition of boric acid which stabilizes the composition and renders the wood fireproof. The quantity of boric acid added may equal the copper content of the solution, which may contain up to 20 per cent of boric acid. Acid fuschin may be added as colouring agent. Wood may be treated with the hot solution in steel vessels with or without pressure.
