PURPOSE: A cellular wheel sluice operation method and a cellular wheel sluice thereof are provided to obtain a predetermined throughput by using a small-sized cellular wheel sluice to increase a throughput in a given size. CONSTITUTION: An operation method of a cellular wheel sluice (1) is as follows. A pressure drop is applied. A high pressure on an outlet shaft (5) exists on a feed shaft (3). A cellular wheel (10) is operated for the circumference of the cellular wheel to reach the revolving speed of more than 0.6 m/s while an item is transferred between the feed shaft and the outlet shaft. The feed shaft is opened toward the inside of a housing (2). The outlet shaft is opened to the downward from the outside of the housing. The cellular wheel is arranged in between the feed shaft and the outlet shaft.
