PURPOSE: A user authentication system and method are provided to perform simple and powerful user authentication. CONSTITUTION: An authentication server comprises an authenticator (31), an authentication request receiver (32), an Internet protocol (IP) address receiver (33), and a location information receiver (34). The authentication request receiver receives a request for the authentication of a user from a service providing server. The IP address receiver receives the IP address of a corresponding user terminal which requests access when the service providing server requests the user authentication. The location information receiver receives the location information of the mobile terminal of the corresponding user from a location server.
