A method for processing a signal encoded by using a block code is provided to prevent an error detection performance from being reduced when an encoding/decoding of a low coding rate is performed. A method for processing a signal encoded by using a block code includes the steps of: acquiring a signal encoded by using a block code; updating the encoded signal based on a first part of a parity check matrix corresponding to a first coding rate; checking the updated signal based on a second part of the parity check matrix corresponding to a second coding rate; and acquiring at least one information bit from the updated signal based on the checked result. The parity check matrix is a matrix supported by an incremental redundancy process. The block code is a low density parity check code. |
