PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear guide device excelling in corrosion resistance.SOLUTION: Alloy steel with a carbon content of 0.10-0.35 mass% is machined in predetermined shape, and then gas nitriding, and quenching and tempering are performed to set the nitrogen content [N] at a surface layer part to 0.10-0.50 mass%, the total content [C+N] of nitrogen and carbon to 0.40 mass% or more, a surface hardness to HRC58 or more, and a pitting resistance equivalent (PRE) represented by the following expression (1) to 19.0 or more to manufacture a guide rail and a slider body.
