PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery in which a CID can be actuated at an appropriate timing in the overcharge state, while maintaining the battery characteristics at a high level.SOLUTION: The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes a current interruption mechanism which is actuated when the internal pressure of a battery case rises. A nonaqueous electrolyte contained in the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery contains a gas generating agent, and at least two porous layers having different porosity are placed between a positive electrode and a negative electrode constituting the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery. Out of the at least two porous layers, a porous layer A placed at a position facing the positive electrode has a porosity larger than that of a porous layer B placed on the negative electrode side. |
