PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a joining type large-sized ceramic member, which can be implemented in the atmosphere and obtain relatively excellent heat resistance and mechanical strength at a joined portion.SOLUTION: There is provided a method of manufacturing a ceramic member, including (1) a step of preparing a plurality of joined bodies made of ceramic, (2) a step of installing joining materials at joined portions of the joined bodies, wherein the joining material includes a mixture inducing combustion synthesis reaction by self-heating at a predetermined temperature, (3) a step of combining the joined bodies in a predetermined arrangement and forming an assembly, and (4) a step of exposing the joining material to the predetermined temperature in the atmospheric environment, and characterized in that the mixture included in the joining material generates heat by itself in the step (4) to cause the combustion synthesis reaction, and consequently the joined bodies are joined together to obtain a large-sized ceramic member. |
