A pneumatic tire is provided with: a carcass which comprises at least one ply, the carcass toroidally straddling the pair of bead cores of the tire and being engaged with the bead cores; bead fillers arranged on the outside of the bead cores in the radial direction of the tire; and rim guards protruding outward in the radial direction of the tire and located on the outside, in the radial direction of the tire, of the points of separation between the tire and an applicable rim, the points of separation corresponding to when the tire is mounted to the applicable rim, is inflated to a predetermined air pressure, and is not loaded. The pneumatic tire is characterized in that; in a cross-section of the tire taken in the width direction thereof, the outline of each rim guard portion, which is located further outward in the radial direction of the tire than the outermost end of each rim guard in the width direction of the tire, has a curvature radius in the range of 5 mm to 40 mm; and if, with respect to the outermost end of the rim guard in the width direction of the tire while the outermost end serves as the reference point, the direction outward in the radial direction of the tire is set as a positive direction and the direction inward in the radial direction of the tire is set as a negative direction, the distance measured in the radial direction of the tire from the outermost end of the rim guard in the width direction of the tire to the outermost end of each bead filler in the radial direction of the tire is in the range of -0.2 CSH to 0.05 CSH, where the distance measured in the radial direction of the tire from the innermost end of the carcass in the radial direction of the tire to the outermost end of the carcass in the radial direction of the tire is 1 CSH. |
