The invention concerns a secondary toilet reservoir water shutoff system for the water inlet of a water tank. The secondary toilet reservoir water shutoff comprises a shutoff valve (28) with a timer (48) having a timing arm (46) coupled to a handle flush arm (60). Rotation of the handle flush arm rotates the timer to permit a flow of water through the shutoff valve to the conventional inlet valve (52). This prevent wasting of water in a failing system since water is only provided unless the timer stops the flow of water.
