PURPOSE: A device and method for cutting and processing a screw are provided to improve the efficiency of a cutting process by easily changing the cutting speed of a screw. CONSTITUTION: A device for cutting and processing a screw comprises a headstock (40), a cutting tool drive unit (50), a rotating unit (30), an encoder (10), and a control unit (20). The headstock supports a workpiece to be rotated. The cutting tool drive unit moves a cutting tool to the outer surface of the workpiece to form screw threads on the workpiece. The rotating unit rotates the workpiece. The encoder generates an encoded signal containing a pulse counter signal of the headstock. The control unit has a macro program for controlling the position and speed of the headstock and calculates a processing distance for the workpiece using the encoded signal. |
