PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of changing transmittance of a color video.SOLUTION: A light emission panel 10 is transparent and flat plate-like, and it has light emitting elements used as a plurality of pixels for emitting light of three colors respectively, and it displays a video by scanning the plurality of light emitting elements. A first timing control circuit (13) controls so as to scan the plurality of light emitting elements at a predetermined scanning frequency according to a first video signal. A light modulation panel (20) is transparent and flat plate-like, and it has light modulating elements used as a plurality of pixels for respectively changing transmittance in an area where three color filters are provided respectively, and the plurality of light modulating elements are provided on a back surface of the light emission panel (10) so as to correspond to the plurality of light emitting elements, and it displays the video by scanning the plurality of light modulating elements. A second timing control circuit (23) controls so as to scan the plurality of light modulating elements in synchronization with the predetermined scanning frequency according to a second video signal. |
